Lightning Protection Testing
Periodic inspection and testing of structural lightning protection systems to BS EN 62305, with a test certificate.
View service →Earth electrode and earthing system resistance measured with calibrated equipment and recorded per test point.
The earth is where a lightning system sends the strike. If the electrode resistance creeps up, the current looks for another route, and that route might be through the building.
We measure the resistance of each earth electrode and the overall earth, using dead-earth or clamp methods as the site allows, and compare the results with the previous test.

Priced per site, with multi-site estates grouped into efficient routes.
Every air termination, down conductor and earth inspected and tested on site.
Test certificate, results per test point, photos of defects and the next test date.
The common target for a lightning protection earth is 10 ohms or less overall, though BS EN 62305 places more weight on the electrode arrangement.
We recommend remedial work, usually extra or deeper electrodes, and can quote for it.
Clamp-on testing lets us measure many electrodes without disconnecting them, where the system allows.
