A lightning protection system sits on the roof and down the walls for decades, mostly unnoticed. Tapes get disconnected during roof works, clamps corrode, test clamps go missing and earth electrodes dry out, and none of it is visible until a strike finds the weak point.

We inspect every air termination, down conductor, joint and test point, measure the earth resistance at each one, and issue a test certificate and report showing what passes, what doesn't and what to fix.

FAQs

Common questions

How often should lightning protection be tested?

BS EN 62305-3 sets inspection intervals by protection level. Most UK sites test every year, and insurers often require it.

Do you test older BS 6651 systems?

Yes. Systems installed to the withdrawn BS 6651 are still tested, and we tell you where they fall short of BS EN 62305.

Will testing disrupt the building?

No. Testing is done from ground level and the roof without any interruption to power or occupants.
